William I. Jacobs has served as our Chairperson of the Board since June 2016 and our interim Chief Executive Officer from January 2020 through March 2020. Mr. Jacobs has served on the boards of directors of Global Payments, Inc., a payment processing services company, since 2001 and of Repay Holdings Corporation, a publicly traded financial technology company, since July 2019. He served as the Chairman of the board of directors of Global Payments, Inc. from June 2014 until September 2019. He also served as Lead Independent Director of that company from 2003 to May 2014 and as one of its business advisors from August until September 2019. Prior to joining Global Payments, Mr. Jacobs served as Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of The New Power Company. From 1995 to 2000, Mr. Jacobs served in various senior roles at MasterCard International. Prior to MasterCard, Mr. Jacobs served as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer of Financial Security Assurance, Inc., from 1984 to 1994. Mr. Jacobs previously served on the board of directors of Asset Acceptance Capital Corp., Investment Technology Group, Inc., and Alpharma, Inc. He holds a B.S. degree in business administration from The American University and a J.D. from The Washington College of Law of The American University.
As Chief Revenue Officer, Chris is responsible for overseeing all revenue generating businesses, marketing and product with strategic oversight focused on achieving consistent revenue and margin growth across the enterprise.
Chris previously served as GM of the company’s direct-to-consumer business and focused on accelerating the growth of the company’s flagship digital bank GO2bank, launched in early 2021. Prior to that, Chris served as GM of wage and corporate disbursements (branded as rapid!) for the company since 2017. In this role, he led the company’s PayCard business and oversaw the development and launch of the company’s earned wage access solution.
Before the business was acquired by Green Dot, Chris served as president of rapid! PayCard and GM of card portfolios for UniRush, LLC., where he was responsible for the management of card products for the multi-line prepaid company. He was previously GM of prepaid cards for the Americas at WEX Inc. (NYSE: WEX). As part of WEX’s global expansion in the Americas, the company’s prepaid card business expanded into Brazil with the acquisition of FastCred and a controlling interest in UNIK. Before joining WEX, Chris was CEO and co-founder of rapid! Financial Services (rapid! PayCard) from 2004 until it was acquired by WEX in April of 2011. From 1996 until 2008, he served as vice president of Sembler Investments and held leadership positions in numerous portfolio companies. He also previously served as a board member of Freedom Bank, a Florida chartered bank.
Chris holds a B.A. in Finance and a B.A. in English from Florida State University and spends most of his time in Tampa, FL.
Jess Unruh has been with the company since 2009 and was appointed Chief Financial Officer in November of 2022. In his previous role as operational CFO and chief accounting officer, Jess led financial operations for the company, including corporate accounting, tax, financial reporting, corporate finance and financial planning and analytics.
Before joining the company, Jess served in the audit practice at Ernst & Young LLP. He holds B.S. degrees in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
Kim joined Green Dot in March 2025. As Chief Risk Officer, Kim oversees the development and implementation of risk and compliance frameworks. A key part of her role is to embed risk awareness across the firm and ensure that the risks generated by direct customers, banking-as-service (BaaS) partners, products and strategies are identified, assessed and mitigated through sound processes.
Kim has deep expertise and broad experience in financial services and regulation. She has served as chief risk officer and in senior risk oversight and remediation roles at leading global banking organizations, and she has rating agency and professional services experience advising financial institutions on risk management, evolving regulations and strategy. She began her career at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where she held a variety of senior policy, regulatory and examination roles in banking supervision.
Kim has a master’s degree from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree from Santa Clara University. Located just north of New York City, she is married with three daughters and a schnoodle. She enjoys spending her free time with family and friends and traveling.
